Limiting Ticket Sales to Venue Capacity Limiting Ticket Sales to Venue Capacity - a blog posting from Whindo - Ticket Whindo To Your Event

limit event capacity

The Max Capacity is an optional setting that can be used to control the total number of tickets sold to an event. For events that only have a single ticket type, the number of tickets sold can be controlled by setting the quantity of tickets available. If you have multiple ticket types it may be necessary to set the total number of tickets available so as not to exceed the events venue.

To set the Max Capacity for your event: 1) Select your event from My Events to launch the event editor 2) Select the Settings tab 3) Under General Settings enter the Max Capacity.

Leave the Max Capacity field blank for to control the number of tickets sold based on the quantity of each ticket type.

more customization options

We are constantly trying to extend Whindo features so that organizers can tailor their event website to meet the needs of their specific event.

Disable Mobile Event Site - In some cases, adding a feature is providing the ability to remove a feature. Whindo by default publishes a mobile optimized version of your event website. When using a mobile or tablet device, visitors to an event website are prompted to choose between the mobile version and the standard version. You can disable the mobile version of an event website under Settings > Mobile Settings.

No Tickets Available Message – Before tickets go on sale, when ticket availability expires, and when tickets sell out you can gracefully convey the situation to your event site visitors with your custom message. To update this message visit Pages > Tickets > Additional Options

Add registration questions unique to each ticket type

custom registration questions

During the checkout process it is often necessary to collect different information based on the ticket type purchased. For example, you may have different ticket prices for Members Only and Non-Members of your association. As such, you may want to collect additional information from non-members so you can market them separately at a later date to increase membership. You may also want to collect a Membership Number from your existing members.

When creating new custom questions for your event's registration you can denote to which ticket types the questions will be associated with. With this feature only Members Only ticket buyers will have to enter their Membership Number and only Non-Members will have to answer questions specific to their ticket type.
