Whindo is an event registration and event promotion service that utilizes PayPal™ account to collect funds directly into your account. We have compiled a list of best practices and PayPal™ configuration options you should review and consider before publishing your first event. Note: You must have a free Premier or Business PayPal account to accept credit cards.


Confirm Email Address (Required)

Visit and login with your valid PayPal credentials. Under My Account > Overview under the Notifications section on the right, you will find the Confirm email address link. Simply click this link and follow the instructions. IMPORTANT - In order to receive any Pending payments, you must first confirm your email address.

Get Verified (Highly Recommended)

What does it mean to be Verified? A Verified seller has provided additional evidence of their identity to PayPal by passing key security checks and completing the PayPal Verification process. Verification increases the overall security of the PayPal network because most buyers prefer to do business with Verified sellers. Most importantly by gettting verified you ensure that you have no receiving limits.

To get verified you simply need to add and confirm a bank account. Under My Account > Overview you will find the Status: Unverified Get verified link. The confirmation process entails PayPal making two small deposits into your bank account which you will need to enter on the PayPal website to confirm that you own the account. This process can take up to two business days so it is best to complete this process before you begin to promote your event.

Payment Receiving Preferences (Recommended)

PayPal provides several payment preferences. Adjusting these settings can improve administration for you and simplify the checkout process for your registrants. Under My Account > Profile > My selling tools you will see a listing of several configuration options.

  • Credit Card Statement Name - the name that will appear on your customers' credit card statements.
  • Block Payments for the items not sold on eBay from U.S. users who do not provide a confirmed address - because you most likely will want registrants to be able to pay with credit cards it is recommended that you set this setting to No.
  • Block the following payments - it is recommended you block payments from eChecks to prevent delays in ticket delivery. For more information on eChecks, see How to disable the PayPal eCheck payment option.

PayPal Shipping Information (Recommended)

Upon verification of a completed order Whindo automatically sends a confirmation and the purchased event tickets directly to the buyer. In most cases this occurs within seconds of a completed order. By default, PayPal displays a Ship button in your History and Transaction Details pages. If you select Shipped from PayPal it sends an additional email to the customer. Most Whindo users believe this to be unnecessary and confusing to the customer and disable this feature in the shipping settings.
